Meet Nugget and Onyx

Nugget and Onyx are two very different cats with two very different personalities.

Nugget is the confident ginger explorer—curious, adventurous, food-loving, and always ready to investigate whatever is happening around him.

Onyx is the gentle black observer—affectionate, expressive, thoughtful, and usually watching everything very carefully before deciding what he thinks about it.

Together, they bring humor, chaos, affection, adventure, and plenty of unforgettable moments into everyday life.

This page is their own little corner of Music2MySoul—a place for real photos, videos, stories, funny moments, outdoor adventures, and all the little things that make Nugget and Onyx who they are.

The Day We Met Nugget

We travelled for about an hour to meet a little group of kittens. Nugget was there with two of his brothers or sisters, but he was the one who caught my attention straight away.

I had been looking for a kitten with his beautiful ginger coloring, but there was something else about him too. While the other kittens were playing together, Nugget seemed a little more independent and kept to himself.

When I picked him up for the first time, he was not completely convinced about me either. He wriggled free and jumped straight out of my hands.

That little moment still makes me smile now.

He was already called Nugget, and somehow the name suited him perfectly. We never changed it. Nugget came home with us carrying the same name he had when we first met him—and it became completely his. 🐾💛

The Day We Met Onyx

Onyx — Around 8 or 9 Weeks Old
Still shy, still watching, and still learning that this was home.

Onyx was much closer to home, only about a fifteen-minute drive away.

By then, we had started thinking about adopting another cat. We were curious about having a black kitten, but more importantly, we wanted Nugget to have a companion so he would not feel lonely when I went to work.

That was how Onyx came into our lives.

The first time I held him, he was frightened and unsure. Just like Nugget had done, he quickly jumped out of my hands. I remember having mixed feelings at first because he was so nervous, but I was determined to bring him home.

Part of that decision came from seeing the environment he was living in. I wanted him to have a cleaner, calmer, and more comfortable place where he could feel safe.

Finding his favorite little spaces.

Onyx also had one sibling there, although I never knew whether it was a brother or sister. There were also two large, noisy dogs on the property, and Onyx had clearly learned how to show stress very strongly, even panting when he became frightened.

When we brought him home, he did not settle immediately. It took about a week before he slowly began to relax and show us a little more of himself.

And I am so glad we gave him that time.

The frightened little black kitten gradually opened up and became the gentle, affectionate, and observant Onyx we know today.

Onyx—Our Little Panther
As Onyx grew, his sleek black coat and quiet, watchful nature gave him the look of a little panther. Outdoors especially, he moves with that low, graceful confidence—alert, curious, and always observing everything around him.
